Story Time has been suspended for the school year.

Feel free to come by anytime, though, and we’ll put out the red carpet.

Random Words is proud to announce that on Saturday, September 24th we will be hosting a book signing with Desiree Devonne Smith, who, as well as being one of our local authors, is the owner of Painted Bird Psychotherapy and CEO of The Hazel Gray Veterans Foundation.

The event will run from noon until 4, during which time Ms. Smith will be signing copies of The Gift of Birden and Red Balloons, the first two in a planned series of mental health picture books.

Of the books, Ms. Smith says that, “…while they appear to be for children, they provide hope, inspiration and healing for adults as well.”

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Hazel Gray Veterans Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.

Such a great meeting last night discussing this book!

We had the largest group of people yet, even though we were missing some regulars.

Next month’s (Oct 4th) book is The Dressmakers of Auschwitz, and we’re arguing… uh, discussing… what Halloween-themed book to have for Nov 1. Throw your hat in the ring on Facebook if you have a preference of another book to suggest.
